Sheila Hartley LLB, PG Dip Law, Dip Counselling

Sheila Hartley - Pyschotherapeutic Counsellor

Experience

Sheila has extensive experience facilitating all forms of therapy:

  1. individual therapy
  2. couples therapy
  3. group therapy
  4. EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) therapy
  5. personal development workshops

Sheila has been practicing counselling for six years, and has been actively studying and pursuing her psychological professional development for the last ten years.

Working Style

Sheila quickly achives an intimacy, warmth and trust with clients, based on empathy, wide life experience and many years of personal work. This allows you to feel comfortable sharing what is often very uncomfortable. Sheila keeps you safe and contained, moving with you at a rate of personal discovery and change that is OK for you.

Sheila is extensively trained in Transactional Analysis, but is strongly influenced by Body Psychotherapy, often using what you feel physcially inside yourself as a key to unlocking what you hold emotionally. This is particularly helpful when talking alone is difficult. Sheila is also interested in spiritual and "magical" aspects of life, and is currently exploring Core Process Psychotherapy.

Qualifications and Continued Learning

With over 10 years counselling experience, Sheila has a diploma in Counselling using Transactional Analysis, and also a post graduate diploma in Law, and a first degree also in Law. For her continuing professional development, she is currently going through her BACP accreditation process.
