Treatment Length

How long your work will take will depend on:

  • how deep are your problems
  • which problems you'd like to fix
  • how deeply do you want to go
  • the time and money you are prepared to spend

As a rough guide, individual counselling often lasts between 6 and 18 sessions. This represents a fair investment in yourself - emotional, financial and in time. But it is usually trivial compared to the costs of having to continue struggling on.

But, for people you want to explore themselves more deeply, or want to be supported over a long period of difficult change, therapy can last much longer – sometimes years.
